Changing your mirror's

Outside Air Temperature Display

How it works:

The light sensor of the Outside Air Temperature display allows you to choose  from three settings for the display in this order:

  • "F" (Fahrenheit)
  • "C" (Celsius)
  • Off

By following the sequence listed below, you can change the setting without disassembling the mirror. The change sequence must be completed during the first two minutes of power up of the mirror.

  1. To start the display setting change sequence, the mirror must be in a daylight condition. An artificial light source, such as a flashlight, may be used to simulate daylight by continuously directing light on the display area during the change sequence.
  2. Start the vehicle to turn the OAT Display on. Complete the remaining steps in the next two minutes for successful display change.
  3. Cover the display area with an opaque (solid) object for at least four seconds.
  4. Uncover the area allowing it to be in the daylight condition for at least four seconds. Repeat the cover and uncover sequence three times.
  5. After the third cover and uncover sequence, the display setting will change to the next setting. Each cover and uncover sequence after the third will toggle the display between the three settings.

The change sequence can only be completed during the first two minutes of operation. If necessary, restart the vehicle to begin another sequence.

 Optional Switching Procedure

  1. Remove the flat glass assembly from the mirror head. Locate the small, recessed gray button on the back of the flat glass assembly.
  2. Press this button to change the setting. Each press of the button will toggle the setting. This procedure can be done at any time during the operation of the OAT Display.
